Let’s kick off with our first topic – publication ethics and integrity.

To help you understand what is meant by publication ethics and misconduct, we’d like you to meet Dr Ginny Barbour, Chair Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and Executive Officer of the Australian Open Access Support Group (AOASG).

Ginny will explain the effects of publication misconduct and introduce you to COPE, the role it plays, and the resources they have available for current and aspiring authors.

We’ve shown you some of the sticky issues surrounding publication ethics and misconduct and how these might impact you as a current or aspiring author.

Follow the next arrow to take our quiz and self-assess your new knowledge around publication ethics, transparency and integrity in research publication.

Hint hint: we recommend reading the article Best Practice Guidelines on Publication Ethics: a Publisher's Perspective first!
